Landscape and Garden Design by dB Landscaping. Maintenance performed by Monarch for the past three years. A naturalistic design paired with a modern house in a beautiful lakeside setting.
Caring for a naturalistic garden design is all about weeding and selectively removing plants that are growing into each other. The goal is to eliminate the sight of mulch and let plant masses touch each other. We aim to maintain the natural beauty of your garden while keeping it healthy and thriving.
Weeding is an essential part of garden maintenance and it should be done regularly to prevent weeds from taking over. In a naturalistic garden, weeds can be particularly tricky to identify, as they may look like desirable plants. Our team of experts is trained to identify and remove unwanted plants without damaging the rest of the garden.
Selective removal of plants that are growing into each other is also important to maintain the naturalistic feel of the garden. This is done by carefully removing plants that are encroaching on others and pruning them back to prevent them from taking over. This process requires a delicate touch and an eye for design, and our team has the expertise to get it done right.
At Monarch Garden Design, we are committed to ensuring that your garden looks beautiful and naturalistic all year round. Contact us today to learn more about our garden maintenance services.

The center bed of this property was a highlight of our renovation and installation work there. We removed two overgrown shrubs, installed a walkway with steps, and also added a platform for sculpture. ThymeStone LLC assisted in our walkway and step installation.

Envisioned by Valerie Sununu as a template for NH gardeners who want to take up the call of native pollinator friendly garden, Monarch was tasked with setting these plants in a beautiful hardscape design focused on circulation, education, and gathering.
We chose a natural stone bird bath from Rock Crest Gardens in Newfield NH.
Bagley Pond Perennials supplied the native plants for our design. Please visit and buy from this amazing nursery that only has true natives, no cultivars allowed!

MGM Landscaping LTD of NH took care of the removal and installation.

This was the beginning of our biggest renovation yet! Our work would end up expanding to almost every corner of the property. Our first task would be to clear out the shady side of the house, which was overgrown with poison ivy, mugwort, and ferns.

We almost completely cleared out this area, removing good plants to tarps for replanting, and getting rid of all the weeds and ferns for a fresh start. When the area was cleared out, we decided to add some new plants. The property had some amazing hosta, daylily, maidenhair fern, Rodgersia, and acidic loving shrubs like Mountain Laurel and Rhododendron, which became the backdrop for our new design.
